Toolbar HiddenSafari Bottom Toolbar Disappeared
Safari auto-hides the bottom toolbar when scrolling. Simply tap the very bottom edge of your screen or swipe down slightly, and the bottom toolbar with the Share icon will pop right back up!
iPad UsersLook in Top-Right Corner
On iPad (iPadOS), Apple places the Share icon in the top-right corner next to the web address bar. iPads do not have a bottom toolbar.
Share SheetScroll Past Contacts & Apps
The Share sheet shows contacts and apps first. Scroll down past them into the vertical list of actions to find "Add to Home Screen".
iOS 17 & 18 FixUse "Edit Actions..." at Bottom
If "Add to Home Screen" is missing, scroll to the very bottom of the Share sheet, tap "Edit Actions...", and tap the green plus (+) next to "Add to Home Screen".
In-App ViewOpened from Facebook, Gmail, or Remind?
Links in social or email apps open in a restricted viewer. Tap the ••• or Safari compass icon in the corner and select "Open in Safari".
Older iOSiOS 16.3 or Earlier
Apple added Chrome/Edge home screen installation in iOS 16.4. On older iOS versions, you must use Safari.
